Christa and Jean Yves were married at the 12 Apostles Hotel in Camps Bay.  The wedding took place on a lawn adjacent to the building with breathtaking 360 degree sea and mountain views.

In the early morning, as I drove over Kloofnek, a thick band of sea mist had swallowed the whole of the coastline from Camps Bay to Llandudno. On arriving at the hotel, the mist was so thick that you could only see a few metres ahead of you. This was very unfortunate as the views from the 12 Apostles Hotel are probably some of the best in the world.

Minutes from the start of the ceremony, the blanket of fog still stubbornly hung over the venue. It was as if by some heavenly order that the moment Christa made her grand entrance, the veil of mist magically lifted revealing azure blue sea and amazing mountain views.

I thought I would just mention a few other things that made this wedding extra special:

• Getting a warm, sunny, wind free day in the middle of winter
• Having a work of art as a wedding cake (really, it was a framed Monet painted in icing)
• Christa’s best friend travelling from afar to make a suprise visit to the wedding
