People often ask me how I can always find something to write about, for every shoot that I blog. I always say that every shoot is memorable and special and it easy to find something unique to write about each one. Well, this shoot had to be one of the most eventful of them all.

Megan contacted me a couple of weeks ago and set up a shoot for her and her close friends. We decided that Tokai Forest would be a perfect location and organised that everyone meet up at the spot on Sunday afternoon.

We left our bags in the forest not far from where I was shooting. There was no one around and we thought they would be perfectly safe. A large male baboon, who must have sniffed out the banana and apple that Joy had in her bag, decided to scratch through all of the bags and empty the contents of each bag until he found the banana. All six of us were shouting and banging sticks to chase it away but this seemed to make no difference. Luckily we managed to alert the ranger on duty who came to the rescue and chased the baboon away. The problem was that the baboon left the scene still clinging onto Joy’s bag, he finally dropped it a few meters up the slope.

After searching through the foliage to find cell phones and make up that had been emptied from the bags, we decided it would be safer to leave the area and finished off the shoot on the outskirts of the forest.
