Here are some questions we are asked frequently. Browse through the questions and answers and if you need to know anything, just give us a call.
How much do you charge per shoot?
The price of a shoot will depend on what type of photography you require, how many hours you require and what time of year it is. I do not include pricing on my website because the prices differ depending on season and requirements. It is best to contact me directly from the contact page on my site or by email and I can send you a quote to suit your needs. If you leave a FAQ I do not have your contact details and I am unable to send you a pricelist or quote.
As a Cape Town Wedding Photographer, which areas do you cover?
I am based in Cape Town but can offer my photography services to all areas throughout South Africa and even overseas locations. I generally cover the areas listed below without any additional charge. For areas further afield, I will quote an additional travel charge. For weddings around South Africa or overseas, I also need to quote for accommodation close to the wedding/event.
The areas I generally service for Weddings, Portraits and Events as a Cape Town Wedding Photographer are amongst others: Bantry Bay, Bergvliet, Bishopscourt, Bellville, Bloubergstrand, Bothasig, Bo-Kaap, Brackenfell, Brooklyn, Camps Bay, Capri Village, Clovelly, Claremont, Constantia, Clifton, Devil's Peak, De Waterkant, Diep River, Durbanville, Edgemead, Epping, Elsie's River, Fish Hoek, Fresnaye, Glencairn, Goodwood, Gordon’s bay, Gardens, Green Point, Higgovale, Hout Bay, Kalk Bay, Kommetjie, Kenilworth, Kensington, Kraaifontein, Kuils River, Llandudno, Maitland, Milnerton, Monte Vista, Mouille Point, Mowbray, Muizenberg, Newlands, Noordhoek, Observatory, Oranjezicht, Ottery, Panorama, Parow, Pinelands, Plumstead, Retreat, Rondebosch, Rondebosch East, Rosebank, Salt River, Steenberg, Sea Point, Stellenbosch, Strand, Somerset West, Scarborough, Simon's Town, St James, Sunningdale, Sunnydale, Sun Valley, Tableview, Tamboerskloof, Thornton, Three Anchor Bay, Table View, Tokai, University Estate, Walmer Estate, West Beach, Woodstock, Wynberg and Zonnebloem.
What photography services do you offer?
The Picturess offers a range of photography services. We specialise in wedding and portrait photography and cover photography for corporate and private events.
Do you only do Wedding photography in Cape Town?
My wedding packages are priced for wedding photography in the greater Cape Town area. However if you like my style of wedding photography, I am not limited to just Cape Town weddings, I can quote on a wedding anywhere in South Africa and will include travel expenses in the package I quote you.
What happens if we go over the time limit of 8 hours you have for your wedding packages?
If the time limit of your package is exceeded, you will be charged an hourly rate but we will be sure to let you know if time is starting to run out.
Why do we have to wait up to 3 weeks after our wedding to receive the photos?
The time spent on the wedding day taking photographs is a very small portion of the overall time involved in preparing the pictures. Usually after a wedding shoot it takes many hours and days to select the best photographs, edit them, add special effects and then arrange them in the best order. Organising the photos in a story for the wedding album often takes the most time. In essence your album is your best way of remembering the day and we want to include all the special moments and bring back all the emotions of the day, every time you open it.
Do you offer special effects on the wedding photos we receive?
Yes. We offer a range of special effects which we usually include with your photos. This includes anything from selective colouring of areas of a black and white photo, to adding common effects like sepia or monotone. We generally select the best images from the wedding shoot to add these effects to.
Is your portrait photography mainly in a studio or do you take pictures outdoors?
We offer both studio and natural lighting for portraits. Often we find that studio lighting with a backdrop is perfect for more corporate portraits, however for family, children or baby photography we prefer using as much natural light as possible and like to take the photos in a setting that suits the subject.
